Except that for the 15 per cent of US households which are food insecure, increases in food prices are more than “annoying.” And it’s this 15 per cent, along with other poor Americans, that eat “too much” - or, rather, too much processed carbohydrates and fats, the cheapest foods that will make up an even larger proportion of their diet as agricultural prices rise.
